Hello, my name is Marcus J. Freeman and I am a self-taught pastry chef. As far back as I can remember, I have always enjoyed using creativity along with my love of food and cooking to create a delectable experience for my family and friends. However, as I matured and my experience evolved, baking became my true passion. At the age of 19 with my first baking business, Cupcakes on Ice, I focused my creative drive on creating and perfecting premium signature cupcakes and homemade ice cream and gelato.
In 2014, I yearned to expand my baking skills and began to design wedding cakes and sweets tables. I truly am a perfectionist and have promised to never stop perfecting my craft and creating unique signature sweets for my valued clients. With that being said, I was later inspired to change my company’s name to Signature Sweets Factory.
I have had the honor of catering events at the Chicago House of Blues, American College of Surgeons, as well as a wide variety of events. I’m also proud to say my cakes and sweets have been featured at several restaurants across the Chicagoland area.
Flavor and quality have always come first: it is a mindset I will continue to use for the life of my business, and it is the reason I work in a chemical-free commerical kitchen. It is my pleasure, along with the love and support of my family/team, to provide you with signature service and signature sweets.
